a few more quotes

“You know how it is in a kid’s book world:
 it’s bunny eat bunny.”
~Anonymous

"Failure? I never encountered it. All I ever met were temporary setbacks."
~ Dottie Walters

"Friendship Isn't about who you have known the longest. It's about those who came and Never left your side."
 ~Anonymous

"I love humanity! It's just people who irritate me." ~ Mrs. S

You are BRAVER than you believe
STRONGER than you seem
SMARTER than you think
and more LOVED than you know.
~Winnie the Pooh

A quote from C.S. Lewis:
"To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable."

I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see.   ~John Burroughs~

After an emotional event, such as a close football game, control strong emotions before getting behind the wheel. ~my driver's ed curriculum

Just to Clear Up Something.

Yeah is different from Yay.

Ya is different from Yeah.

Ya is different from Yay.

They all mean totally different things.

“Yeah” is commonly used for agreeing with someone in place of “yes” or “I agree”. It is also often used for answering yes or no questions although I don’t encourage that as it is very informal.

“Yay” is celebratory. It’s something people say when excited or happy. It means “I am excited!”. I associate it with parties and balloons and things I am looking forward to.

“Ya” means “get a move on, horse” and more commonly is short for “You” (or used to portray an accent for “you”). It does NOT mean “yeah”. No, no, no, no, NO. So, when you are writing and you say “ya” to mean “yeah” (NO)  you are really telling the person “you” or “get a move on, horse”. Which… probably has nothing to do with anything if you are answering a question or agreeing with someone.

Spread the word.

Quotes for Thought.

"A grower of turnips or a shaper of clay, a Commot farmer or a king -- every man is a hero if he strives more for others than himself alone."
~ The High King by Lloyd Alexander

“It’s like in the great stories Mr. Frodo, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn’t want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end it’s only a passing thing this shadow, even darkness must pass.

A new day will come, and when the sun shines it’ll shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something even if you were too small to understand why. But I think Mr. Frodo, I do understand, I know now folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going because they were holding on to something.”

“ What are we holding onto, Sam?”

“That there’s some good in the world, Mr. Frodo, and it’s worth fighting for.”

Sam and Frodo, Two Towers

"True courage is knowing not when to take a life but when to spare one." ~Gandalf the Grey

"There are all kinds of courage. It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies , but just as much to stand up to our friends." ~Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

definition: hero: noun, plural he·roes; a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. 2 a legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability)
